Indosat and Smartfren Shares Jump Significantly! What really happened ?

Two shares from the infrastructure sector (telecommunications) move very attractive to trade. The two shares are PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) and PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT). Both of them compacted a significant surge, in which FREN shares up at Rp 282 per share compare at 21/01 at Rp 106, while ISAT shares up to at Rp 3,430 per share compare at 21/01 at Rp 2090

In addition, both of them also occupied the top rank of shares with the highest trading frequency on the exchange in this month. The surge in the two shares of cellular telecommunications issuers was due to positive sentiments related to the plan of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KemenKominfo) which would loosen rules regarding about spectrum transfers. That allows telecom operators in Indonesia to buy back existing bandwidth and easily merge with other telecommunications operators and expected to be implemented in the first half of 2019. The loosening of the rules has become a breath of fresh air for all telecommunication operators in Indonesia except Telkom Group (TLKM).  So let’s keep watching 😊
